De Vonk is hard gegroeid en staat op de drempel van haar volgende fase. Na de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen maken wij ons klaar voor een periode van verdere bewegingsopbouw, afgewisseld met campagnes zoals het Amsterdam Palestina Referendum.

De termijn van het huidige bestuur van De Vonk loopt op zijn eind en dus mag een nieuw bestuur deze fase tegemoet treden. Onze strijd tegen het kapitalisme, voor solidariteit en voor een vrij Palestina zal nieuwe vormen aannemen nu we de parlementaire verkiezingen achter ons laten en ons mogen focussen op het organiseren van gemeenschappen. De Vonk doet daarom een oproep voor bestuurskandidaten. We moedigen gedreven, enthousiaste mensen met uiteenlopende achtergronden aan om te solliciteren. Mensen die luisteren naar de stem van een strijdbaar Amsterdam.

Het is voor De Vonk belangrijk dat we verschillende achtergronden en netwerken in ons bestuur vertegenwoordigd hebben. Kandidaten met achtergronden die op dit moment ondervertegenwoordigd zijn in ons team, worden daarom extra aangemoedigd te reageren.

Het kan zijn dat je niet aan alle eisen voldoet of twijfelt over je geschiktheid. Meld je alsnog aan! Je hebt meer te bieden dan je denkt.

Wie zijn wij?

In mei 2025 is De Vonk officieel opgericht als coalitie van de Activistenpartij UvA en de Revolutionair Socialistische Partij Amsterdam. Wij zijn in de kern 'links van links', en streven ernaar om een beweging op te bouwen waar iedereen zich welkom en gezien voelt. Verkiezingen zijn voor ons een middel, geen doel op zich. De parlementaire politiek is niet de oplossing voor de grote problemen in onze stad en deze wereld. Deelname aan de parlementaire politiek kan echter wel bijdragen aan de opbouw van een brede, van onderop georganiseerde beweging, in staat om echte verandering voor elkaar te krijgen.

Als bestuur bouw je aan die beweging. Je begeleidt teams die acties, informatieavonden en trainingen organiseren en helpt mensen om voor elkaar actief te worden. We verenigen ons om een stad te bouwen waarin vrijheid, duurzaamheid en gelijkwaardigheid centraal staan.

We zijn op zoek naar bestuursleden die zich zullen richten op campagnes zoals het  Amsterdam Palestina Referendum en het verder opbouwen van de partij door middel van  coalitiepartners, basisgroepen en het organiseren van bewoners in de Amsterdamse wijken.

De Activistenpartij en Revolutionair Socialistische Partij Amsterdam zijn als coalitiepartij elk vertegenwoordigd in het bestuur met een vertegenwoordiger.

 

Wat precies?

Alle direct verkozen posities van het bestuur moeten worden gevuld. Dit zijn dus: 1 voorzitter, 1 organisatiesecretaris, 1 penningmeester en 4 algemene bestuursleden. Geef in je sollicitatie aan voor welke functie(s) je solliciteert. Taken omvatten (afhankelijk van de bestuurspositie) onder andere: coördinatie van werkgroepen, financiële verantwoordelijkheid, vertegenwoordiging naar buiten en campagnevoering. Je geeft zelf aan waar je kracht zit en welke voorkeur(en) je hebt. Gecombineerde taken zijn natuurlijk ook mogelijk.

 

Als bestuur ‘pas je op de winkel’ tussen de algemene ledenvergaderingen in en geef je in deze perioden leiding en richting aan de partij. Gezien de vlotheid die de politiek vereist, zal je soms de politieke lijn uitzetten. De algemene ledenvergadering (ALV) houdt je ter verantwoording en is het hoogste orgaan van de partij. We zoeken een diverse groep die binding heeft met Amsterdam. De bestuursposities zijn onbezoldigd.

Jouw rol als bestuurslid:

- Je ondersteunt werkgroepen, organiseert activiteiten (zoals ledenvergaderingen en  demonstraties), en verbindt leden en vrijwilligers.

- Je hebt oog voor samenbouw en efficiënte partijstructuren.

- Je draagt bij aan campagnes en zorgt dat De Vonk zichtbaar en toegankelijk is voor  alle Amsterdammers.

Wat breng je mee?

• Affiniteit met de idealen van De Vonk en de coalitiepartijen, namelijk solidariteit, een eind aan het kapitalisme en een vrij Palestina.

• Ervaring met bestuur, politiek, campagnes, activisme of grassroots organizing (ervaring mag ook groeien in de rol).

• Vermogen om samen te werken in een team en mensen te motiveren.

• Politieke sensitiviteit: je begrijpt hoe lokale politiek werkt en communiceert hier  passend over.

• Organisatietalent en een proactieve houding.

• Je wil waarborgen: ruimte voor verschillende perspectieven in de partij, het bevorderen van open democratische discussie en een participatieve cultuur.

• Je vindt het leuk om achter de schermen een nieuwe partij uit te bouwen die ruimte  geeft voor interne groei, ontwikkeling en initiatief van leden.

 

Wat vragen we?

• Een tijdsinvestering van 8-10 uur per week.

• Een termijn van 1 jaar.

• Deelname aan ledenactiviteiten.

• Het samen met andere bestuurs- en kaderleden uitbouwen van een politieke bewegingin heel Amsterdam door middel van een groeiend aantal coalitiepartners en actieve basisgroepen.

Procedure:

• Stuur een motivatie en CV uiterlijk 15 April naar bestuurskandidaten@devonk.org. Voeg drie telefoonnummers toe van toepasselijke referenties die in kunnen staan voor je ervaring, je capaciteit om in een team te werken en je geschiktheid voor het bestuur van De Vonk. De informatie kan in het Nederlands of Engels worden opgestuurd.

• Geef in je motivatie aan welke bijdrage jij kan en wil leveren.

• Geef in je motivatie aan voor welke bestuurspositie(s) je solliciteert.

• De Bestuurskandidatencommissie (BKC) ontvangt de motivatiebrieven en CV’s, en maakt op basis daarvan een selectie uit de kandidaten.

• De BKC nodigt geselecteerde kandidaten uit voor een interview. Het is mogelijk dat je niet wordt uitgenodigd. In dat geval zal de BKC je daarvan op de hoogte stellen. Mocht je niet worden uitgenodigd, staat het je nog steeds vrij om je kandidaat te stellen tijdens de ALV.

• De BKC draagt een bestuur voor aan de ALV op basis van de motivatiebrief, CV, referenties en interviews. De ALV mag afwijken van deze voordracht en ook niet-voorgedragen kandidaten kunnen in stemming worden gebracht.

• De BKC geeft tekst en uitleg over waarom ze dit bestuur voordragen en waarom andere sollicitanten niet zijn voorgedragen.

• Kandidaten worden uiterlijk twee weken voor de ALV ingelicht of ze wel of niet worden voorgedragen door de BKC. De kandidaten die niet worden voorgedragen door de BKC kunnen er op dat moment voor kiezen of ze willen dat ze worden genoemd als sollicitant voor het bestuur tijdens de ALV.

• Leden stemmen op de ALV op de kandidaten.

• De kandidaten met een meerderheid van de stemmen worden benoemd.

Vacancy: Board member De Vonk

 

De Vonk has grown rapidly and is about to enter its second phase. After the local elections, we are preparing for a period of further movement building, interspersed with campaigns such as the Amsterdam Palestine Referendum. The  term of the current board of De Vonk is coming to an end, and so a new board will be able to take on this phase. 

 

Our struggle against capitalism, for solidarity and for a free Palestine will  take on new forms now that we can leave the parliamentary elections behind us and focus on community organising. De Vonk is therefore calling for board candidates. We encourage motivated, enthusiastic people from diverse backgrounds to apply. People who listen to the voice of a militant Amsterdam.

It is important to De Vonk that we have different backgrounds and networks represented on  our board. Candidates with backgrounds that are currently underrepresented in our team are therefore especially encouraged to respond.

You may not meet all the requirements or may have doubts about your suitability. Please  apply anyway! You probably have more to offer than you think.

Who are we?

In May 2025, De Vonk was officially founded as a coalition, together with the Activistenpartij  UvA and the Revolutionair Socialistische Partij Amsterdam. We are essentially “left of left”  and strive to build a movement where everyone feels welcome and seen.

For us, elections are a means to an end, not an end in themselves. Parliamentary politics is  not the solution to the major problems in our city and the world. However, participation in  parliamentary politics can contribute to the development of a broad, grassroots movement  that is capable of bringing about real change. As a board, you build that movement. You guie teams that organise actions, information evenings and training sessions and help people to become active  together. We unite to build a city in which freedom, sustainability and equality are central. 

 

We are looking for board members who will focus on campaigns such as the Amsterdam  Palestine Referendum and further building of the party through coalition partners and  grassroots groups in Amsterdam's neighbourhoods.

 

The Activistenpartij and the Revolutionary Socialist Party Amsterdam are each represented  on the board by one representative as a coalition party.

 

What exactly?

 

All directly elected positions on the board must be filled. These are: 1 chairperson, 1  organisational secretary, 1 treasurer and 4 general board members.

Please indicate in your application which position(s) you are applying for. Tasks include  (depending on the board position): coordination of working groups, financial responsibility,  external representation, and campaigning. You indicate your strengths and preferences.  Combined tasks are also possible.

As a board member, you will “mind the shop” between general meetings and provide  leadership and direction to the party during these periods. Given the speed that politics  requires, you will often set the political line of the party. The general assembly  holds you accountable and is the highest body of the party.

We are looking for a diverse group with ties to Amsterdam.

The board positions are unpaid.

Your role as a board member:

• You support working groups, organise activities (such as members' meetings and  demonstrations), and connect members and volunteers.

• You have an eye for collaboration and efficient party structures.

• You contribute to campaigns and ensure that De Vonk is visible and accessible to all  Amsterdammers.

 

What do you bring to the table?

• Affinity with the ideals of De Vonk and the coalition parties, namely solidarity, an end to capitalism and a free Palestine.

• Experience with administration, politics, campaigns, activism or grassroots organising (experience may also grow in the role).

• Ability to work in a team and motivate people.

• Political sensitivity: you understand how local politics works and communicate about it appropriately.

• Organisational talent and a proactive attitude.

• You want to guarantee: space for different perspectives within the party, the ability to  promote open democratic discussion and a participatory culture.

• You enjoy working behind the scenes to build a new party that provides space for  internal growth, development and initiative among members.

 

What do we ask?

• A time investment of 8-10 hours per week.

• Working with other board and executive members to build a political movement  throughout Amsterdam through a growing number of coalition partners and active  grassroots groups.

Procedure:

• Send a letter of motivation and CV to bestuurskandidaten@devonk.org by 15 April at the latest. In your CV, include the phone numbers of three suitable references who can speak about your experience, ability to work in a team or suitability to be on the board of De Vonk. The information can be sent in either Dutch or English.

• In your letter of motivation, indicate what contribution you can and want to make.  In your letter of motivation, indicate which board position(s) you are applying for.  The Board Candidate Committee (BKC) will receive the letters of motivation and CVs  and will select candidates on that basis.

• The BKC will invite the selected candidates for an interview. It is possible that some applicants may not be invited for an interview, in this case the BKC will inform them as soon as possible. Those not invited for an interview are still free to propose themselves as board members during the ALV.

• Based on the written motivations, findings from the interviews, and information provided by the references, the BKC will propose a board to the ALV. The BKC’s proposal will include justifications both for proposed board members and for why other applicants may not have been ultimately chosen.

Candidates will be informed of whether or not they will be included in the BKC’s proposal at least two weeks before the ALV. At this stage, non-proposed candidates can inform the BKC that they would like their information removed from the final proposal, should they no longer desire to put themselves forward as potential board members during the ALV. The ALV may deviate from this proposal, and non-proposed candidates may also be put to a vote.

• Members will vote on the candidates at the ALV.

• The candidates with a majority of the votes will be appointed.
